Our story: Why we started White Dove Albums
In 2012, we launched White Dove Albums (formerly known as Inspired Album Designs) because we realized there was something missing in the marketplace for couples who wanted an affordable -- yet high quality -- wedding album.
What options are available for couples looking for a wedding album?
Our friends and family members getting married seemed to have only a few choices for their wedding album. It was either buy their album from their wedding photographer, or try their hand designing their own album on one of the DIY sites online.
As for the first option, sometimes it's hard to find photographers who offer wedding albums at a reasonable price point.
As for the second option, there are a number of DIY sites to choose from, like Shutterfly and Mixbook.
But, as our clients often mention to us, those DIY albums just aren't comparable to the professional grade albums typcially available exclusively to professional photographers. Images are dull and muddy because they are printed on press paper rather than photographic paper, pages are flimsy, poorly constructed, and don't lay flat, and the cover options are limited.

And DIY sites can be disappointing in other ways as well. Some online sites use plug-and-play software that you can't easily customize. Other sites require you to master their complicated design software and channel your "inner graphic designer."
Even sites that offer free design services can be cookie-cutter, use an old-fashioned design aesthetic, and/or offer very few custom options.
As a result, many couples who opt to buy the digital rights to their photos simply forgo the wedding album until they figure out what to do. If that's you, you know that months can pass by, with that CD of wedding photos sitting in your desk drawer. In fact, we have so many clients who reach out right before their first baby is due, because they know they won't have time to focus on their wedding album later.
